Aenaon Café Restaurant

The newly branded Aenaon café restaurant is a special little jewel at the outskirts of the small village Castro, with outstanding views over Cephalonia and Zakynthos. The café is renovated from an existing bakery shop and through the reconstruction and redesign of the ageing premises, there was a welcoming and functional café and restaurant created.
The client’s commission was to create a café that would immerse users in the abundant greenery of this unique oasis with its magnificent sunsets. Therefore, the bar and seats are located such that guests’ views are directed away from the car park and towards the lush greenery and view directly to the Ionian sea.
Since the weather is warm all year round, and locals spend a lot of time outside, the practice wanted to give the interior of the café an appearance and feel of the outdoors. An atmosphere of a courtyard, where you could hide from the blazing summer sun.
